Question:
Can this unit be housed and used as part of an outdoor kitchen? Can it be inserted under the counter and surrounded on 3-sides by stone veneer walls without compromising the performance/safety?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Angie. The top of the Smokin Tex will need to remain open to access the control as well as allowing the chimney on top to remain unblocked.

Asked by AngieAnswered by Wesley

Question:
How many boston butts could you fit into this smoker?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Cam. The Smokin Tex 1100 has a capacity of 23 pounds. Depending on size and weight that is roughly 2 Boston butts.

Question:
What outdoor temperatures are best to use Smokin Tex bbq smoker?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Chris! SmokinTex smokers are made with double wall commercial grade stainless steel for easier maintenance and cleaning and, of course, durability. They are also spun glass insulated so that, according to an Alaskan customer this smoker will operate at 30 degrees below zero.

Question:
What is the outdoor temperature range for successfully using the BBQ Electric Smoker 1100? I am interested in year-round use.
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Mark! Smokin Tex does not list a required temperature operating range, but this unit is composed of 850+ degrees of insulation wrapped with double walled stainless steel, and has had reports of operating as normal at temperatures significantly lower that -10 degrees Fahrenheit!

Question:
Does this unit have a air damper? If yes where is it? Also can I put a water pan in it? Please Respond Tob.
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Tob! This unit does not have an air damper because there is no need without an actual fire. You may put a water pan in if you wish. Hope this helps! Give us a call at 877-743-2269 if you have any further questions!

Question:
Can you add casters to the Smokin Tex 1100?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Lee, while Smokin Tex doesn't offer any casters specific to this item it was not designed to have casters on it. If you wish to make any customization yourself, you may want to refer to the manufacturer's warranty to ensure the customization doesn't void the warranty.

Question:
Can you do a cold smoke with this smoker? Does it need a water pan?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi, you can use this smoker for cold smoking and you will not need a water pan. This smoker has a tight seal, so no moisture will escape while the door is closed.

Asked by GAnswered by Hunter

Question:
Wondering if this is a good size for me. Definitely don't need anything particularly big. Normal amount I'd generally be smoking would be a not so big brisket and 2 racks of ribs or a chicken. What do you think? Also hoping to do a turkey for thanksgiving. What size turkey could go in this? Thanks, matt
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi, Matt. This could fit what you're wanting to smoke, but you'll be getting close to max. capacity, depending on how big of a brisket or turkey you choose. A trimmed 7-10 pound brisket with a couple racks of pork ribs, split, could fit. If you remove one of the smoker racks, a 12-14 pound turkey would probably be as big as you can go.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
