The Saffire Kamado style grills offer an 18 inch cooking grid, a cast stainless steel damper that allows for adjustment of airflow and grill temperature, and also a hinged access door in the stainless steel cooking grid provides access to the fire and allows you to add or adjust charcoal quickly and easily. Things To Love:
Saffire has the look of a well constructed grill, for example, all of the metal components are stainless steel except for the charcoal grate which is cast iron. The cooking grid has a hinged access door for easy adding of charcoal or wood chunks that
might be too large for the wood chip slot. The top vent is constructed of cast stainless steel while most other brands use cast iron. There’s also an option to add a
wood chip feeder to the front of the grill which eliminates the need to open the lid while cooking.
Saffire also has a good assortment of accessories, including a unique cooking grid elevator. This accessory elevates the cooking grid to the top edge of the grill, which provides easier access to food and use a pizza peel when cooking pizza.
Things To Consider:
While the body of the grill is made of quality ceramics, the stainless steel hinge is not made with the same level of quality. Most other kamados have a
heavy-duty hinge made from powder coated steel for durability. If you need more than an 18” cooking area, so you may want to add a secondary cooking grid or
look at another brand that offers a larger cooking surface.
