The Skinny:

  • Wood-fired fuel for authentic taste and experience
  • Handcrafted in Italy
  • Heats up in less than an hour

Things We Love:

On top of providing authentic Italian flavors, Fontana Forni pizza ovens are both durable and efficient. They pair 304 stainless steel frames meant to last for years with rock-based insulation that won’t break down over time and is especially resistant to constant temperature changes. These ovens use one-fifth of the wood consumed by traditional ceramic pizza ovens while reaching similar temperatures, saving you money on fuel and the time it takes to frequently feed a fire. Best of all, you can place food directly on the cooking floor with no additional accessories required!

Authentically Designed in Italy

There’s nothing quite like a true Italian pizza, and that’s just what you get with a Fontana Forni oven. Beyond their wood-fired fueling method that provides authentic taste and experience, these ovens are made with refined Italian craftsmanship and quality European parts. Fontana Forni has produced Italian-style pizza ovens for more than 40 years, and some of its models in Italy are still fully operational after three decades of use! These ovens, which are available in the Fontana and Forno Toscano Series, are smartly designed with domed chambers that eliminate hotspots and ensure even heat distribution.

Rosso and Gusto Collections are Built for Efficiency

The Fontana Series includes the Rosso and Gusto Collections, which both reach their ideal preheat temperature in 45 minutes. These low-maintenance pizza ovens are separated into three sections: The bottom area stores wood, the lower fire chamber creates the flames, and the oven holds your food alongside a convection fan that evenly distributes heat. For cooking versatility, the Rosso and Gusto models have three removable racks on which you can place other foods or pizza stones to cook additional pizzas. Heat-control features include an adjustable valve, cast iron door, and front-side damper, while the ovens have internal lights and a built-in timer for convenience.

Forno Toscano Collection is Stylish and Versatile

With three different pizza oven lines available, the Forno Toscano Series allows you to choose the model that best fits your needs. The 39-inch Mangiafuoco ovens have a 768-square inch cooking area, and the smaller 31-inch Margherita units can fit food over 576 square inches. If you need a pizza oven that can perform well in heavy-duty situations, the 39-inch Marinara and its 1,024-square inch cooking surface might be just what you need.

No matter which collection you choose from, every Forno Toscano Series pizza oven can reach 750 degrees Fahrenheit in just 30 minutes. They boast high-end temperatures around 850 degrees yet maintain a cool-to-the-touch exterior for safe operation. Despite working like traditional brick ovens, these models don’t need to be put through the lengthy curing process before first use, so you can start cooking immediately!

Things To Consider:

Depending on the Fontana Forni model you choose, some assembly may be needed. The Fontana Rosso and Gusto Collections require no assembly or installation, but the cart they come with will need to be put together. The Forno Toscano models, meanwhile, can be placed on a cart or a countertop. For these pizza ovens, the cart will need to be installed, but the oven alone won’t.

Rosso and Gusto units must go through a seasoning process before being used for the first time, or you’ll risk damaging the finish on the oven. To do this, simply build a small fire and slowly add larger pieces of wood to bring the oven to at least 500 degrees. Don’t exceed 600 degrees and let the fire burn for about two hours before cooling completely. Also keep in mind that wood-fired ovens require more attention than gas-fueled alternatives. Fontana Forni pizza oven domes carry a four-year warranty, while all other parts have a warranty lasting two years.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
