Top of the line grill!

This grill has been everything I thought it would be, and then some in my new outdoor kitchen. It looks great and cooks evenly across the grilling surface. You will get professional quality cooking out of this grill! I couldn't ask for anything better, because there is nothing better.

Quality and Performance!

Just bought this product and I am very satisfied with it. It performs better than any grill I have ever owned. The grill is also built solid and well designed. This grill will definitely last for many, many years!

Way overpriced

In this price range, I expected better quality design and materials. The grate over the sear zone rusts very quickly. Alfresco told me to use WD40 on it to remove rust stains. I've never seen a grill surface start to rust in its first two weeks of use. The knobs are hard to see under the faceplate. The temperature difference between Max and Min is not very significant. Basically, it's close to Max at all times. The flame in the sear zone is too high and causes immediate flare ups.

Good and Bad

Mixed feelings after 5 years with this grill. Pro - extremely hot, unbelievably hot, burnt the hairs off my arm! Hot enough to cook a proper Neopolitan pizza, great sear for steaks, mostly too hot at full temp for most things - usually turned down quite a bit. Usually cook at 2/3 or 1/2 full heat for chicken, burgers etc. But good range of heat. Also has pretty low temps for more delicate things. Cons - Although the external parts are heavy and thick, many of the parts are made of quite thin metal that fall apart and are expensive to replace. The briquette holder - replaced twice already - it may be high quality steel, but so thin it has fallen to pieces. The warming rack has fallen to pieces. The grill over the infrared burner, and the top of the burner itsself have also disintegrated. The replacement part prices are really exorbitant. Also, not a big fan of the grill surface - simple fairly thin round bars not as good as they heavier grills on some other BBQs. Flare ups avoidance is so-so - still get quite a few, not all that well controlled. Would NOT buy again. Have to buy a new grill this year (moving) - leaning toward Fire Magic.

Beautiful Grill

Have just started using my new Grill a few weeks ago. While it is a beautiful piece of equipment the lid does not align perfectly and is offset by about 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch at the front. Not a huge deal but at this price I would have expected better. The Grill takes forever to get hot. While the sear zone heats quickly, after 20 minutes the thermometer reads only 525. My Webber summit which is 9 years old would be at 700 in 10 minutes. I also find the sear zone to be quite noisy again maybe that's the way it should be.

A Reminder that More is Less- avoid this product

I agree with many of the comments below on the challenges with this equipment. My 42 inch grill came with the rotisserie gas line poorly connected at the factory. The result was flames burning out of control . Clearly some quality problems on the assembly line . customer service and follow up were equally disappointing. As for the grill itself the hot is too hot and the alternative temperatures are hard to read as the knobs and Max/min are poorly indicated. The flareups are a complete surprise and I avoid cooking many meats on this grill because of that. The Bbq takes time to heat up and a waster of gas and energy as compared to my Weber BBQ. The lights in the bbq turn off whenever the bbq is heated. Despite numerous letters and complaints to the company nothing has been done. You expect that when you spend 5X the cost of a weber bbq that you will get something special. Truly disappointed and would not buy again... stay away and save your time and money

Avoid unless you want constant flare ups

I added the 42' gas version to our outdoor kitchen, and it's the worst grill I've ever owned. It burns super hot so on low indirect hearing it stays at 425 degrees which is too hot. There are constant flare ups which burn the good. You literally have to keep moving food to aboud the flame. You can't leave this grill for five minutes, or you'll burn your food. If I could return it I would, but it's built in so I'm stuck with it. Choose something else. A grill in this price range should be awesome, but the Alfresco 42' is far from it. I'd give zero stars if I could

I would never buy this product again!

I would never buy this product again. It is impossible to keep it from flaming up no matter what you do. If you cook on it you better be standing there full time with water to be sure you don't burn your food. I could have bought a cheap chargrill if that was what I was looking for.

The Skinny:

  • Restaurant inspired, top-notch quality
  • Clean, polished look with LED lights
  • Incredible performance and versatility
  • Made in the USA

Things We Love:

The Alfresco ALXE grill is designed for the entertainer or culinarian who appreciates quality, versatility, performance and style.

Featuring true commercial-quality construction and performance, this restaurant-inspired grill is extremely versatile and made to cook. It all starts with their high 18-SR stainless steel high performance Accufire™ main burners, which are fully utilized due to the airtight construction of the grill's firebox, and the optional restaurant-quality infrared Sear Zone™ that sears around 1600°F.

Above the stainless steel burners sit the ceramic briquettes, which have concave backs for very even heat distribution, whether you're on low heat or high. The ceramic briquette trays also lock into place, and they can be flipped over for easy cleaning. For bonus flavor, take advantage of the Signature Taste™ integrated smoker system with dedicated burner and drawer for wood chunks. The smoker box works well with aromatics or liquids and rests under the ceramic briquettes, allowing the smoke to engulf your food for maximum flavor enhancement.

Standing further out from the competition is the motor of the Integrated Mega-Drive™ rotisserie system with infrared burner — on the Alfresco ALXE, it's completely built-in and hidden from sight. The chain-driven rotisserie can smoothly turn as much as 120 lbs. of prime rib, whole chickens, ribs, and much more.

With its polished stainless steel and amber LED lights above the knobs (that stay cool to the touch because of the innovative air-cooled front control panel), this American-made grill has a stand-out stylish appearance. From the spring lid assist with a 20-year high-heat lubricant to the versatile accessory options, this grill has everything you need for truly luxurious cooking.

You can be confident in Alfresco, which offers one of the best warranties in the industry, offering a lifetime warranty on the grills stainless steel components and burners, along with the Freedom Warranty which covers all parts and repairs for a full 2 years.

Things To Consider:

While Alfresco's infrared Sear Zone™ produces an extreme amount of heat, it doesn't offer much of a low turn down when cooking food that requires a low temperature.

You'll Like This Grill If:

You want a top-of-the-line commercial quality grill that is built to perform with the professional in mind.

Does the sear zone burner have adjustable heat? It mentioned it doesn't turn down super low....but is it adjustable at all? Or is it basically just on or off?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Brian! The sear zone burners are NOT adjustable. They are all the way on or all the way off.

Free Shipping on orders over $49

Ship your entire order to your home for free, especially the big stuff! *Continental US only

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
