  • Q.

Why doesn't it offer a sear burner?

    • A.

The DCS grill is designed to reach searing temperatures without having to dedicate a portion of your cooking surface to searing only. Searing temperature is 900 degrees and above; our very own Chef Tony was able to get a DCS grill to 1100 degrees, using the standard burners. That's several hundred degrees hotter than you will ever need to sear a steak, or fish. Reply

  • Q.

What is the difference between the 30" size and the 36” DCS grills?

    • A.

These grills are very similar, but there are a couple differences that set them apart. The 30 inch will not have the Patented Grease Management System like the other DCS grills. Instead, the grill grates have a more traditional style like you would find on other grills of this calibur. Also, the 30 inch grill will have two burners, while the 36 inch grill will have three. • Q.

Can this grill really get reach searing temperatures without this specific type of burner?

    • A.

Absolutely. Searing temperature is classified as 900 degrees and above. Most searing burners don't get much hotter than 900 degrees, but we've test run DCS grills and gotten them to 1100 degrees. Reply

  • Q.

Why doesn't this have a temperature gauge?

    • A.

DCS cooking equipment was originally designed by engineers for use in 5 Star, commercial kitchens. In keeping with their roots, there is no temperature gauge because professional chefs don't use them. The temperature gauges on grills are only measuring the temperature of the air inside your grill, and are not able to accurately read the temperature of the food being prepared. Professionals prefer to use meat thermometers for this reason. Reply

  • Q.

    Is there an internal light?

    • A.

There are no internal lights on DCS grills. However, they do have a 50-watt halogen light built into the rotisserie kit that comes with every grill, so you can still grill at night. Having the light on the outside of the grill keeps the lens from becoming clouded with smoke and grease. Reply

Looks great-cooks great

Perfect size for a family cook out. Might need the DCS 36 if you are cooking for the neighborhood. Our indoor kitchen convection microwave, convection oven and cooktop are DCS. They look great, work great and are excellent values For slow cooking on the DCS 30, I wish it had a temperature gauge. Haven't been able to find a suitable after market gauge.

It is by fare the best B. Q. I ever have used. It burns very even and fast.

Love the grill

Went through a number of gyrations to replace the built in that was pretty much shot when we moved into the new house. Worked with the folks at shopperschoice (WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!) to come up with options that might work in the space where the old grill was. You'd think I could just upgrade the model that was there in the first place and it would have the same dimensions..ha ha. Anyway, this was the option that required the least amount of modification to the cabinet/built in structure. Got it installed, works great!

Great Grill!

I finally decided to upgrade my 20+ year old propane grill to a higher end natural gas model. I chose the DCS 30" grill on the advice of a friend and haven't been disappointed. It is well built and has all the features I want in a grill. The 30" is perfect for family grilling or gatherings of up to around 12 people. I highly recommend this grill to anyone looking to go high end without spending a fortune. I did see an earlier review where the author complained about the front panel getting too hot. I have not experienced that at all, in fact it stays quite cool even when grilling at high temperatures for extended periods of time (like cooking multiple pizzas). This makes sense to me since the combustion air enters from the front.

bad grill

I have used the grill 3 times and replaced the battery 3 times; the control panel got so hot it melted the wires (new harness installed today), overheated the battery and burned my grandsons fingers when he touched the knobs.
