FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Who makes BBQ Pellets?
A. A number of mills including Bear Mt. Forest Products, Western Oregon Wood Products and Traeger Industries.
Q. Are pellets widely available in all parts of the country?
A. Yes, There are many retailers in all 50 states, and pellets are readily available on the internet. But please use only bbq pellets as they are made without any glues or additives that could be present in heating pellets.
Q. Is your grill easy to use?
A. Yes, The gas components of the grill operate just like most gas grills on the market. Gas flow is controlled by a regulator. Turn on the gas control, push the electric igniter and begin grilling. Using pellets is as simple as filling the pellet hopper with up to 20 lbs of wood pellets. Set the thermostat to the desired temperature, and push and hold the electronic igniter. Once your grill gets "up to temperature", you are good to go.
Q. Does the temperature fluctuate much when using pellets?
A. You will get a little bit of fluctuation 5 to 7 degrees on a long burn (8-16 hours). We have used the grill in a recent competition setting the thermostat to 190 degrees to cook brisket. After putting the brisket on at 10 pm, we left the event to go home and go to bed. Upon returning the next morning at 7 am, the grill was holding steady at 190 degrees.
Q. How big is the grill space?
A. We like to say big enought to cook two turkeys, but you could definitely get three of them on there. Using the upper grill rack I have been able to cook up to 9 (7-8 lb) pork shoulders (BOSTON BUTTS) for 9 hours at the same time.
Q. Does your grill come with instructions?
A. Yes, the grill ships with an instruction manual that includes tips, and recipes.
Q. What is the warranty?
A. Lifetime Warranty on all Stainless Steel components, (which is nearly every component in the grill including the screws, bolts, auger and firebox). 1 Year on the motor and fan assembly.
Q. Will I like my new grill?
A. YES !! You will now know what it is like to be the recipient of grill envy. It is big and shiny and solid and heavy. Many times people see it and their first question is "Where are the handlebars"? It is nearly impossible to have bad results. If you overcook your chicken by as much as an hour, it will still be phenomenal. We love to say that "AMERICAN BOYS LOVE AMERICAN GRILLS".
